Privacy Policy

Effective: September 5, 2026

This policy explains what WheelVerdict collects, why, and what you can do about it.

The short version

We run basic traffic analytics to see which pages people read. Affiliate links set cookies from the retailers we link to. We do not sell your data, and we do not run advertising networks on this site.

What we collect

Automatically. Standard server logs (IP address, browser type, referring page, pages visited, timestamps) and aggregate traffic analytics, used to understand what people read and improve the site.

When you contact us. Whatever you put in your message, kept as long as needed to deal with it.

When you comment, if commenting is enabled: the name, email and comment you submit, plus your IP address for spam filtering.

We do not currently operate a newsletter. If we launch one, this page will be updated before any addresses are collected.

Cookies

Essential cookies keep the site working – session state, security, your cookie choices.

Analytics cookies tell us which pages get read and how people arrive. Aggregated, not used to identify you personally.

Affiliate cookies are set by the retailer when you click a buying link, so they can attribute a purchase to us. These are the retailer’s cookies under the retailer’s policy, not ours.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site works without them, though some conveniences will not persist.

Third parties

The following services may process data when you use this site:

  • Automattic (Jetpack) – traffic statistics and site security
  • Automattic (Akismet) – comment spam filtering
  • Porkbun and WP Cloud – hosting, content delivery and server logs
  • Amazon Associates and other affiliate networks – purchase attribution when you click a buying link

Each operates under its own privacy policy. Where they act as our processors, we rely on their published data protection terms.

How long we keep things

Analytics and server logs are retained by our analytics and hosting providers under their own retention schedules; we do not keep separate copies. Contact messages are kept as long as needed to resolve them, then deleted. Comments remain until you ask us to remove them.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, correct it, ask us to delete it, object to processing, receive it in a portable format, or withdraw consent at any time.

If you are in the EU or UK, these rights come from the GDPR. If you are in California, the CCPA gives you similar rights, including the right to know what is collected and to opt out of any sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information.

To exercise any of these, email hello@wheelverdict.com. We will respond within 30 days.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

We use HTTPS across the site and take reasonable measures to protect the data we hold. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be flagged on this page with a revised effective date. The date at the top always reflects the current version.
